I have been a devoted reader of the Scott Arvath series and largely enjoyed all of them. This one was a major disappointment. The premise of the plot, that newly revealed writings of Mohamed would take the steam out of militant Islam was a stretch to begin with. When hundreds of pages are then spent in a DaVinci code style search for artifacts from Thomas Jefferson, the house of cards collapsed for me.Perhaps if Thor had written this book using a new character instead of Scott Arvath, he may have been more successful. As is, it is a square peg in a round hole. Picture Jack Bauer as the hero in the Da Vinci code or National Treasure.
